The Social Innovation Resource Guide is provided by Georgetown University Law Center. Social innovation—defined as “a novel solution to a social problem that is more effective, efficient, sustainable, or just than existing solutions and for which the value created accrues primarily to Society as a whole rather than private individuals”—is drawing widespread academic interest. This Resource Guide is a work-‐in-‐progress that attempts to capture the various resources that assist, advise, and document social innovation. Here you will find foundations that support social innovation, organizations that are creating metrics to measure social innovation, attorneys who Counsel social innovators, centers and incubators that grow social enterprises, and much more. The Social Innovation Resource Guide is meant to be collaborative and dynamic. As new organizations are formed, new conferences are planned, and new books or blogs are written, they will be added to This Resource Guide. This version of the Resource Guide primarily focuses on U.S. institutions—we hope to expand its international scope [Extracted from the authors’ preface to the Resource Guide].
