Hernán Thomas is Director of the Institute for Science and Technology Studies (IEC) and Senior Professor at Universidad Nacional de Quilmes (Argentina). Also, he is principal researcher at CONICET and Visiting Professor at numerous universities in the country and abroad. He is Doctor in Science and Technology Policy (UNICAMP-Brazil) and has a degree in History (Universidad Nacional de Luján – Argentina) and several postdoctoral studies in science and technology policy. His research work is related with three converged areas: sociology and history o technology, innovation economy and science and technology policy. His most recent works focus on analyzing knowledge-intensive Strategic Technologies, (biotechnology, nuclear technology, aerospace technology, ICTs, nanotechnology). Currently, he is coordinator of a Research Program (with regional reach in Latin America) dedicated to the analysis of production and implementation of Technologies for Social Inclusion; and Executive Coordinator of the Network of Technologies for Social Inclusion – Argentina (RedTisa).
