upscaling New Organizing Internal decision-making Identity Formalizing enlargement

This is a CTP of initiative: INFORSE - Ecoserveis (Spain)

Ecoserveis has grown from 3-4 workers in 2011 to 11 in 2016.

Co-production

The strategic collaboration with other organizations and the change in funding schemes to Horizon 2020 has given the possibility of growing as an organization.

Related events

Horizon 2020 launch in 2014 and collaboration with other organizations as explained in CTP5. As the organization grows the internal governance and the assignment of responsibilities has also changed.

Contestation

The growth has produced internal debates about how much to grow and where to place the emphasis of their work. So far the view of maintaining and strengthening the focus of Ecoserveis in issues of energy education and energy poverty prevention with emphasis on supporting activities with their knowledge has prevailed.

Anticipation

Part of it was expected as the collaboration with other partners was part of business as usual. The change of financing schemes at the European Union level was an external event.

Learning

That the management of an organization requires day to day activities and strategic work. They still find it difficult to have the strategic discussions when the day to day work is so demanding.
