Michael Søgaard Jørgensen is an associate professor in sustainable innovation and sustainable transition at Center for Design, Innovation and Sustainable Transition (DIST) at Department of Development and Planning at Aalborg University’s campus in Copenhagen. He is M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (1981) and PhD in Technology Assessment (1988) from the Technical University of Denmark. 2007 he was appointed Dr h.c. at the Technical University of Iasi, Romania. He has published about environmental design and innovation in companies and product chains in relation to food, ICT, nanotechnology, clothing, bioenergy and housing, about technology assessment and technology foresight as methods in societal transition, and about the increasing role of quality and values in different professions and the possibilities of developing good working conditions. Action research and dialogue research are important methodologies in his research on design and innovation. He is member of the board of the Society of Green Technology within the Danish Society of Engineers.
